FILE PREPARATION

Native, PDF and EPS files are all acceptable formats to supply your files.
Native Files: All fonts and linked images must be included in order to be sure that type reflows or substitutions do not occur. This format gives us the most flexibility with your files should you need us to make any last minute changes for you.
PDF Files: Embed all fonts or outline all fonts. Crop marks and at least a .125” bleed must be visible on your artwork if you would like your piece to bleed.
All artwork and photos should be supplied in CMYK as vector artwork or with a 300dpi resolution at 100% size. Artwork supplied in RGB will be converted to CMYK and can produce unsatisfying results.
PAGE CONSTRUCTION
All artwork should be set-up with at least 1/8” bleed on all sides of the document. All important design elements should also fall in a “safe zone” that is 1/8” in from the trim size of your document. Questions? See our bleed reference for more details.
For booklet set-ups, it is best to create pages as single pages, set up as facing pages, built to their actual trim size. Elements that bleed off of the page must extend 1/8” over the edge of the page on all three outer edges. Live matter should be a minimum of 1/4” inside the final trim on all books to ensure that no essential information is trimmed off.
